Like a lot of people I have always enjoyed exercise and every sporting activity. Not only is it good for the body it is essential for the mind.
I have played competitive team sports since school, in particular netball and this continued through to my adult life where I played in the NI Netball League as centre for Craigavon City Ladies. During this time I also participated in many half marathons and completed the Dublin marathon in 2018.
The gym and, in particular, strength sports have always been a love of mine so much so that I qualified as a personal trainer and eventually bought a gym in Dec 2020. Resurgence Training Facility aka RTF. In 2021, I took to the stage to compete in PCA in the trained bikini category and competed in the RTF in house powerlifting competition in 2024. I was also honoured in the same year to be asked to referee at Stone Monsters Competition in Armagh as a representative of RTF.
We are delighted to say we have all the strength disciplines in RTF, bodybuilding, powerlifting, Olympic lifting, strongman/woman and arm wrestling and have some accomplished athletes in these fields training in the gym so this has not only given me a huge insight but also a wealth of knowledge into all these sports.
I was delighted to be asked to join the irish stone monsters - lifting stones is an art on its own. Brute strength, determination and technique helps too plus the history behind it all is really interesting as well.....
